In 2022, the annual Frolic Raffle was renamed the "Nobody Fights Alone Raffle" in honor of Amber Henderson, Director on the Frolic & Rodeo Board, Mother, Wife, Daughter, Sister, Friend, Neighbor and Warrior against Acute Myeloid Leukemia. Amber's willingness to share her struggles with her support network reminds us all of the wide range of challenges cancer patients and their families face every day.
Nobody Fights Alone is a local appeal to provide community assistance to cover non-medical living expenses for Philomath and Benton County residents fighting all forms of cancer. |
It’s the ugly side of the fight – the financial and emotional strain. For many patients, the cost of travel to endless trips to doctors offices, hospitals and treatment centers mounts quickly, and most of these additional expenses are not covered by medical insurance.
Survivors attest that fighting the disease requires every ounce of their emotional and physical strength. The chances for beating cancer drop significantly when energy is spent worrying about paying for the gas or the expense of food needed to feed a tired immune system. |
100% of all raffle proceeds are donated to Project H.E.R., an Oncology Support Program funded by The Corvallis Clinic Foundation. Project H.E.R. works with cancer patients in Benton, Linn and Lincoln counties. The Nobody Fights Along donation will be used to purchase gas cards, grocery gift cards, and provide other needed financial assistance for cancer patients in Benton County.
